Winstones on Rodborough Common confirms four dairy-free vegan ice-cream flavours. Stroud Brewery says its cask, keg and canned beers are vegan and its taproom offers plant-based choices. Seasonal Vale of Evesham asparagus is worth buying only where a named shop has it.
Useful shops are in Chipping Campden, Winchcombe, King's Stanley, Dursley, Wotton-under-Edge and Bath. Co-op's current vegan range is Co-op Plant Based, but village branches carry only part of a national range. Dursley's larger Sainsbury's is the best mid-route place for a full shop. Below the common, Stroud Brewery confirms plant-based taproom choices and vegan beer. Wotton-under-Edge: Wotton Farm Shop is a useful shop and a third-party lead for a vegan brownie and oat drink; the operator does not publish vegan items. The remaining rural pubs are meal leads, not confirmed vegan kitchens, so contact them before the walking day.
Winstones' labelled dairy-free vegan ice cream and Hayles' pressed apple juice are the two dependable route-side treats. Check the current counter for vegan cake rather than relying on an old review.
Northbound or southbound, the useful sequence is Chipping Campden, Winchcombe, King's Stanley, Dursley and Wotton-under-Edge. Dursley has the strongest full shop; load up in Wotton for the thinner southern villages. Moreton-in-Marsh is a sensible pre-start shop when arriving by rail, and Bath covers the other end. Sunday hours are the main constraint, so buy the previous evening and keep an emergency dinner.
