Peddars Way

The Peddars Way is a 74.8 km waymarked route across west Norfolk, from Knettishall Heath on the Suffolk border to Holme-next-the-Sea on the north coast. It is the inland half of the Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path National Trail, which carries on along the coast from Holme. The line is Roman in origin and runs unusually straight, and much of it is unclassified county road or restricted byway rather than footpath, which is why it walks like a green lane and why vehicles are lawfully on parts of it. Flat, well waymarked and short enough for four days, it is a good first long walk, but water and food are the planning problem rather than the terrain.
