Getting to the start
Corfu airport (CFU) is how nearly everyone arrives, and it sits about 2 km south of Kerkyra town, which makes the connection unusually easy for an island trail. Blue bus line 15, run by Astiko KTEL Kerkyras, links the airport with the green bus station, San Rocco square and the port, so you reach the intercity network without a taxi; a single was 1.10 euro bought before boarding and 1.70 euro on board when checked on 2026-07-29. From the green bus station, KTEL route B1 Corfu to Kavos runs to the southern trailhead and is the operator's own southern trunk route. Arriving from the mainland there are two doors. Kerkyra Lines and others sail Igoumenitsa to Corfu town, and Lefkimmi Lines sail Igoumenitsa to Lefkimmi, whose port sits 13.4 km along the trail from Kavos and roughly 4 km away by road. Landing at Lefkimmi skips Kerkyra town entirely and is the shortest way to the southern end. Ventouris Ferries list Corfu as a bookable port on their Italy to Greece network. If you would rather not connect at all, a pre-booked private transfer for the 45 km airport to Kavos run was quoted at about 75 euro per vehicle for up to four people on a booking platform on 2026-07-29, against a metered taxi with no published island price list.
Leaving the finish
This is the harder end. The finish at Agios Spyridon beach, by the mouth of the Antinioti lagoon on the north coast, does not appear on KTEL's own destination list. The nearest listed destinations are Acharavi, on route A3 Corfu to Roda-Acharavi, and Kassiopi on A4, both a few kilometres along the coast road, and the operator also lists a north coast link, S5 Sidari to Kassiopi, which runs through the Roda and Acharavi stretch. So the realistic finish is either a taxi for the last few kilometres or finishing early enough to walk out to Acharavi and pick up the bus there. Both A3 and A4 run into Kerkyra town, and line 15 takes you from there to the airport. Book the taxi the night before rather than hoping to find one at the lagoon.
The one-way journey
Two ends, neither of them a hub, on an island whose bus network is a star centred on the green bus station in Kerkyra town. Almost every move between the two ends is a transfer in town plus a second bus, which is why most people walk this trail on public transport and taxis rather than with a car. Two links do dodge the town and are worth knowing: KTEL lists S7 Ipsos to Kavos down the east coast, and S9 Kavos to Marathias in the far south. We found no car relocation service advertised for this trail. If you do bring a car, the airport car park is the one place near the trail with a published open-ended long stay, and it is at the wrong end for the finish.
If you need to leave the trail early
The trail keeps crossing the island's road spine, so most bail-outs are a village that KTEL already serves from Kerkyra town: Kavos (B1), Marathias (B19) near Vitalades, Issos (B6) near Halikounas and Lake Korission, Strongyli (B13), Sinarades (B14), Ermones (B16) and Glyfada (B17) near Vatos, Liapades (A10) and Paleokastritsa (A9), and Agios Georgios Pagon (A7). The real gap is the Pantokrator stretch. Spartylas is not on the operator's current route list and neither is Old Perithia, and the nearest listed destinations are Korakiana (A13) and Sokraki (A14), so from those two nights out a taxi is the exit. Assume the last useful bus into town is mid to late afternoon out of season: KTEL does not publish a per village last departure worth relying on, and a Sunday or an April or October afternoon is where people get caught. Useful access hubs

About 2 km south of Kerkyra town. Blue bus line 15 (Astiko KTEL Kerkyras) connects the airport with the green bus station, San Rocco square and the port, so the intercity network is one bus away and no booking is needed. For the southern trailhead, change at the green bus station onto KTEL B1 to Kavos. Taxi desks and car hire are in the terminal, and the airport runs its own 150 space car park.
The airport's traffic peaks between April and October, which matches the walking season. Astiko KTEL does not publish days of operation or a season for line 15 on its airport page, so confirm the winter pattern on 2661031595 rather than assuming.CoachCorfu Intercity Bus Station (Green Buses)
The hinge of this whole trail. Every village route on the island radiates from here, on Eptanisou Ave. about 2 km south of the town centre, and blue bus line 15 links it to both the airport and the port. Anyone planning to reach a trailhead or bail out to a bed is planning a journey through this building. Tickets are bought before boarding at the office rather than from the driver.

The mainland and international door. Blue bus line 15 runs from the quay through the town centre to the green bus station, so a ferry arrival reaches the intercity network without a taxi. Kerkyra Lines sail Igoumenitsa and Paxos from here and also list the Diapontia islands; Ventouris Ferries list Corfu as a bookable port on their Italy to Greece network. Igoumenitsa sailings are described by the operators as a daily network. Neither Kerkyra Lines nor Ventouris publishes months of operation, and Italian sailings to Corfu are the ones most likely to thin outside summer, so check the operator before building a day around one.FerryLefkimmi port
The best-kept secret of the southern end. The port sits 13.4 km along the trail from Kavos and roughly 4 km away by road, so a walker coming from the mainland can land here and skip Kerkyra town completely. Lefkimmi Lines run Igoumenitsa to Lefkimmi and also serve Paxos. KTEL's B1 road route and the S9 Kavos to Marathias link both work this corner, and a taxi from the quay to Kavos is a short run.
Lefkimmi Lines describe the Igoumenitsa link as connecting daily and state no months, so it reads as a year-round working ferry rather than a summer service. Confirm on +30 26620 23200 before committing to it as your arrival.FerryIgoumenitsa (mainland port)
The mainland gateway, and the reason this trail is reachable without flying. Two separate crossings land in different places: Kerkyra Lines to Corfu town, about 17 nautical miles, and Lefkimmi Lines to Lefkimmi in the far south, about 9 nautical miles and much closer to the start. Igoumenitsa also carries the Italy traffic and sits on the mainland coach network.
